Devin bodied whatever.

The 189 car is a Devin

Usually had Chrysler V8 engines.

Cliff;

I am so glad you take the time and effort to provide us with these photos every week.
I, seriously, wait for this post.
You have such a good eye for color and detail.
Thanks hardly seems enough for your contribution.

Dave :thankyousign:

P.S. I love the El Camino pictures. I have a 64 and really like to see what others do with their utility car

Doc> not to contradict you as I so respect your knowledge and willingness to share it, but just what I remember.

Most of the Devins with which I am familiar, were sold as body kits which were then installed on TR-MG, etc. frames with the same make engine, or custom frames and Chevrolet V8's. Bill Devin did build some cars. The following has some info.

One of the most important barn finds was a Ferrari frame with a Devin body. The frame alone was worth beau coup bucks. Was a low # Le mans Car

Most I ever saw or fussed with were "rail" frames built with Chryslers, Jim. You ain't contradictin'. Just relating what ~was~.

It was the heyday of custom builders. They apparently got to where I was (western PA) with "custom" meaning something other than Chevy.

I do know there's a lady in Kansas or Oklahoma or *someplace* out there like that still campaigning a blue one in vintage events with a Chrysler V8 stuffed in it, too.

<shrug>

Doc>

Would love to find an original body and maybe put it on a Factory 5 frame streched 4" and modified as necessary.

There was a blue Devin with some history, as I remember, on EBAY some weeks ago. Don't remember what or if it went for.
