Cars&Coffee was extra special this last weekend. Mazda was hosting their annual Sevenstock party in their parking lot so C&C had to move for a day.

The nice folks at Mazda arranged for the show to take place in a rather exceptional location, at the end of a six-mile private mountain road that they used in their “Zoom Zoom” commercials.

The road is owned by the residents of a small equestrian-centric village in the mountains that separate of Orange and Riverside counties.

Instead of the usual “free, just show up and hang out” format there was a small donation to the local volunteer fire department (a very worthy cause in these here parts) and a judged car show with trophies and prizes.

Rolling in.

For the most part the two groups, car show and horse event, were independent and doing their respective things through the morning. But when the color guard came out and they played The Star Spangled Banner the whole town came to a standstill and it seemed like the entire mountain range was dead silent except for the music. Very cool.

Did I mention there’s a six-mile driveway to get in or out of this place?
