Cars and Coffee 3 - 29 - 08

C&C is sure getting well known. There are no small days there any more. I'd say it's too much if we weren't talking about cool cars.

Supercar Sunday occurs every Sunday, but the last Sunday of the month is the "big one". Today was a smaller than normal turnout for the end of the month, probably 350 cars.

And it happens in ......Calabasas? The photos you posted in the other thread look like "The Commons".

No, it's down the street from the Commons, in the shopping center at Valley Circle and the 101 freeway. I wish it were in the commons so there was more room. This place overflows into the supermarket lot when there are more than 600 cars or so.

Staying in Cypress should knock a pretty substantial chunk off the drive to C&C. (I’m assuming you mean the one here in OC, not the one back home in Greece  )

You only have to worry about getting there before 07:00 if you want to show your car (which I would highly recommend). The spectator area always has enough parking if you’re just there to look.

It ain't the drive there that gets me. I can make the 50 miles in under an hour. It's the 2.5 hours home on the 405 that gets me!

You would be better off saying "not the one over in Florida!!!" The one "back home in Greece" first of all is not in Greece, it is an independent country over 300 miles from the Greek mainland AND it is spelled CYPRUS (from the latin Cuperus - copper - NOT the tree!!) Minor point, but you are PC after all

!!

You are right Donn! Jay-man has a nice example of one...I wonder if that was his? After watching Mr. Meguire schmooze with the celebrities there I wouldn't be surprized!

I’ll change it to ā€œI'm assuming you mean the one here in OC, not a tree.ā€

Hey, I never claimed I knew how to spell. :square:

Guys I know from Kýpros calls themselves Greek. And I ā€˜m easily confused anyway.

Jay wasn’t around that morning. I’m not sure about that particular Cosmo but I know Mazda has one in their basement and has been known to roll it out into the parking lot occasionally. Another guy brought one a week or two ago too. Don’t know if it was the same one. I got the impression he was the owner but maybe he was a Mazda employee.

"Guys I know from Kýpros calls themselves Greek. And I ā€˜m easily confused anyway."

And there are some who call themselves Turks too! That is why that poor little place still has the only capital in the world still divided by a wall!!! They still have to learn the American model of "Ethno" American!
But that's enough esoteric politics from a Greek-Russian-British-Cypriot American

And back to esoteric cars.

Which reminds me, I’ll have to post a pic of the Iso-Grifo that showed up towards the end of the morning.

Well, they (people from Cyprus) have what we would call ā€œHellenicā€ heritage, and Mike is correct in that they are an independent country. Also, for added spice in Cyprus the cars are right handed drive and of course they drive on the wrong side of the street like they do in England.
PC, I will make one of those meets as soon as my MGB is up for it.
