Also got the passenger side footwell trimmed out, ran outta carpet! Now "experimenting" with contouring the back battery cover pad. Have used an insulating material on the back of the carpeting called "Reflectix". Kinda like bubble-pack with an aluminum foil bonded to both sides. Picked it for the non-absorbent aspect, too.

hmmmm... not using a "carpet kit" then?

what are ya using? the cheapy carpet rolls found at auto "parts" stores?

oh yeah, I'd like to see some work in progress pics too... ya know, to help with the "How-to" part... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Indoor/outdoor black pile with a 'rubberized' backing.

I will do some photos t'morrow! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've used that kinda stuff too....The one they sell here is a pretty close match, appearance wise, to the original black MGB carpet.

This was an early car and had closed loop carpet (in the few places there WAS carpet /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif). I'm not too bothered about originality with this, tho. This stuff is just fine.

ah, yeah I forgot you have an early car....I was refering to my later cars.

can't wait for the pics... I can think of different types of "rubberized" backing that I've seen over the years. One of which being a closed cell foam-rubber like backing.
