I finally got around to getting the pics off of my digital camera and on to my site. This is the pictorial to the TRF Magic Carpet Kit installation after my clutch was replaced.

I hope it goes well for you Mike. It's a good time to tidy up under there while everything is out. Hopefully, you'll have no rust or other issues to deal with when you get it out.

I did forget to mention that you also must make sure that you allow the clutch pedal to bottom out on the floor pan and not on top of carpet and padding or you'll be grinding away when you try to shift. Combined, they're thicker than you might imagine and have caused many a TR owner a bit of indigestion.

I'm going to install an Alpine CD player/radio in my TR6. All the wiring is there from the previous installation, so should be an easy task. My question is what type of speakers have you installed? My side cushions/panels are new and don't have speaker cut-outs (yet).

As soon as my Crypt Car is again operational,
I must immediately take it someplace and have
the clutch replaced.

The PO of my TR did a really half assed install
job on cheap, cheap, cheap carpet.

Now I have the photos to properly install decent
carpet while my TR returns to being a Crypt car
for the clutch change out.

Craig, I used the original 50 watt Jensen speakers that I've had for years. Any quality 8 ohm speaker will work well. I just mainly wanted a CD player for entertainment at the shows. It's more of a toy, because I love listening to the engine when I finally get to drive it on those rare no rain days.

Tinster, I used TRF for the carpeting because several others at the NET show recommended them. I understand that there are others that make a quality set as well, but for the price, I think that TRF was pretty good deal. I just took it to the upholstery shop this morning to have the rear shelf piece cut and formed to fit around the roll bar to make it look like a factory installation.

He was sewing up (from scratch) a complete interior for a 1949 Ford convertible, complete with custom piping and black and white inserts. It's going to look really sharp with the rolled and pleated pattern that was popular in the 50's and 60's.

Wish I'd had your guide earlier this summer when I replaced my carpet and underlay in the 4A. Virtually identical layout, which I installed pretty much in reverse.... But got done. Isn't fun putting the carpet on the Transmission cover... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
One thing that I added was a galvanized metal shield over the rear drive shaft tunnel section. This serves to protect the cardboard covering over the emerg. brake cable area. An area I find is a commonly used leaning point when entering and exiting the car
 
Good modification Tom. You don't want to count on cardboard to constantly lean on.

I just got back from the upholstery shop and he did a great job on the rear shelf carpeting. Eddie seamed everything in and added matching brown leather binding to seal around the roll bar frame tubes where they go through the carpet so that all of the bolts are hidden. It looks like a factory roll bar installation.

I'll add a pic later in the week when I get my digi cam back.
