Carpeting and top

Ok, Got the engine out of my 8, with some crappy weather this week end I should have the engine back together. Now I need a new top and my carpeting basically dry rotting out of the car.

Any suggestions on the carpet and the top. Remember this is not a purist car, it is very much a driver.

Look into seeing if a local shop can do a one piece molded carpet for the car similar to what was stock. If not, all of the usual places have multi piece sets that work well(request a sample). Use a good adhesive everywhere and a stiff backing for the front mats. Nothing worse than flimsy carpet flopping down around the pedals. While your in there, check the floor plugs. I always pop them out and then tack weld them back in. I prefer Robbins canvas tops, but they are pricey. On my green car, I justified going with the extra expense of semi formed carpet by eliminating the rear panel behind the seats. It works well with the roll bar I built and has a cleaner look now, but still has removable front mats.
