Carpet installation

I think you can buy Dynamat from Amazon for about the same price as the Eastwood product. Last time I checked, about a year ago, Amazon price was slightly lower for slightly more sq ft. It was pretty close though.

It may then come down to the company that will do the best on shipping, because it will be going down under. This stuff is heavy.

I used Q mat and am very happy with it. https://www.mongoose.com.au/products/q-mat.html

It is the cheapest of all regular brands which I was initially suspicious of but it is the same as or at least indistinguishable from Dynamat. For my Zephyr I used a 9-sheet pack which comes with nifty little tools for pressing it down with and I have another box for the Healey when I get around to painting the chassis. NFI. Andy.

I just bought a bulk box of Dynamat - cost me AU$220, the guy originally stated $260, but after talking for a while dropped it to $220. Could have bought QMat for $190 for the same amount.

Now home with it and after laying out all the carpet bits over the 9 sheets of Dynamat, it seems I'll need more if I want to cover everything. As I'm blanking in the rear seats I want to cover the rear seat area and rear wheel wells up to the sloping section that is normally behind the rear seat backrest.

The guy I bought it from said he'd sell the QMat by the sheet, so I might have to go with that to 'top up'.

Also found a source of Zero Clearance Heat shield in Australia https://www.carbuilders.com.au/Zero-Clearance , So think I'll get a sheet of that for the underside of the G'Box tunnel and around the box section on the fire wall it butts up against (thoughts?).

This is a dedicated Album of carpeting following the work of Rick Chrisler - it can be useful for 100/6 and bt7 cars
for the insulation I have used TWO thin layer (3mm each) of aluminum and polyester insulation (I have joined the two layer from the polyester foam side and aluminium on the TWO at external sides) used in Italy for thermal wall insulation -
at this first bed I have added one second layer of black soft plastic (4mm) used normally for packing
All cheap priced -- the results are fulfil for efficiency at the summer road test in long range trips (600 km)
Carpet I have used the wool -Jaguar type- from AHead best quality and good priced but not originals -This add a third layer of sound and thermal barrier- Secured following partly the original fastner and partly by large Velcro strip
I am always in doubt to make a hinged opening for the gearbox oil control- I am very annoyed to stripp all the gearbox tunnel for this operation - It must be easy if deliberated before the carpet works
