Now for carpet! The kits don't do much for me ... Anyone ( In US) have a suggestion for a source for a good black carpet? I'm thinking a indoor /outdoor carpet... I have all the pieces for templates.
TIA

I bought my 77 midget with no carpet. I bought a full carpet set on-line for less than $100. Installed all the pieces myself and it looks really nice.

I think it's worthwhile calling a few 'mom & pop' auto upholstery shops.
My GT will get new carpet from one of these as they can do the entire job, including installation and soundproofing for less than the usual suspects can sell a kit.
They'll definately do a better job than I would.

Pep Boys, roll of carpet in black, 3 M adhesive, scissors, and a few razor blades. < $25.00 for all. There is enough carpet in a roll to do two Spridgets.

I've used indoor/outdoor and the "cut-and-paste" method for years. A carpet store will usually have black lying about for bargain prices compared to buying "kits" or farming out the job. We used a 1/4" padding made of "bubble-pack" with aluminum foil on both sides to further reduce moisture avidity. It's an insulating building material, sold in rolls at building supply stores... It cost more than the carpet! Weldwood contact adhesive to glue up the shapes for the various mats and pieces.

Up in Kerny Mesa there is an "auto stuff" supplier called Keyston (or Keston) Brothers who have tremendous carpet, upholstry etc for really good prices, don't remember the address since it's been 20 years since I lived in San Diego.

Keyston is still here, but wholesale only.
Checked Home Depot today -
they have a really nice indoor/outdoor carpet 6 ft width in some nice colors - black, slate, beige, dark green - for under $5 per linear foot, so $15 would carpet it fine....

Where did you buy the carpet from online?

Got it on e-bay from https://www.britpartslocator.com/
Actually got outbid, but they offered us a second chance at the same price. ($100 including shipping) What I loved is all the pieces. I installed one of those 1 piece molded carpets in my son's car and it was not fun. This is easy and required very little gluing or stretching. I also lucked into some wool carpet pad so I cut pads for underneath it to cut back on heat and road noise.
