I have owned this carpet set for a while and finally getting around to installation. The tunnel piece around the shifter will need some fitting, as do the under seat bits. Also, as you can see, I need to make a few other pieces to complete the carpeting in the boot area. The doors will have some 2" pleats similar to the seats and some special treatment on the pocket area. Not done yet, but progress today feels great so I figured I'd post up.
You may notice there is now a painted boot. The opening mechanicals are not done yet. Stand by.

Looks nice! Way to go.

Nicely done!

Peter,
That looks great...the carpet and the boot. Some people have all the skills!

That trunk lid sure takes the fun of spelunking into the boot with a coal miner's helmet looking for a lost part.
The trick : perform an "emergency stop" from about 40 mph in a parking lot, then most all loose things can be collected with only a shallow dive into the boot. ;)

Progress being made : removeable steering wheel now fitted. Carpet trim and pieces remade now getting final fit and glued down in some cases. Battery box being sourced - will be in far back boot.

What is the paint color??? It looks great

Peter,

who’s carpet kit. I picked up a carpet kit for a Mk 2, a VB Kit I am going to use. Kit was from an abandoned project and included all interior panels as well. Got new door cards from BE Guy. Hoping this fits ok but won’t know till I get to that project phase. If its a POC fit I can always fall back on the Red interior and Boot Kit from David at BE Guy.

looks awesome! Love the seat for Granny Clampett  in pic three

Here is the dash with all stuff mounted. Need to tighten up on the column.

Thanks! Got the carpet set and extra from Sports & Classics....stamford, ct. They were very helpful with color I wanted, extra carpet and edging I needed. Seats installed now, but another round on the removeable steering wheel - need more room. The burgundy color was from a Ford truck but I don't remember any more, sorry.

I find this color very rich, first of all, it is tough to keep it clean, a thing that only rich people can afford, second of all this color is very chic. I had to make a floor repair recently and decided to change the carpets. It was quite a struggle to get grey carpets, as I liked beige more. But I can't assume the responsibility of keeping my car clean. In case there are some life hacks or tricks, that keep the car nice and clean, I will be happy to apply them in real life, lol. Looking forward to them!
