Carpet "Direction"

Good afternoon.

I'm cutting and installing carpet for my Longbridge BN4. The carpet I'm using has the same "ribs" as the original. Is that the correct term for the carpet texture or grain? Some of the original carpet was there for patterns and to know rib direction. However, the rear seat area and the main floor carpets are gone. Before I cut the big pieces that are missing, I'd appreciate knowing which way to cut them:

1. On the rear seat area, do the carpet ribs run side to side or front to back?

2. For the four pieces of carpet on the main floor, do the ribs run side to side or front to back?

Thanks in advance for taking a look at your car's carpet and responding. Enjoy your day.

Hi Mike,

These photos are from my 1960 BT7. Maybe they will help.

My 190;BT7 was OEW with red interior just like yours. Just Looking at the photos, I can still smell that distinctive English Car smell.
