I'd recommend starting out in a slow/inexpensive group like ITB,ITC,SSB or SSC in the SCCA...

Never learn to race in a car that you wouldn't push off a cliff.
Remember racing has nothing to do with <span style="font-style: italic">the car</span>
Don't spend more than $4,000.00 on a car READY TO GO!
You'll have a lot of other stuff to worry about.

My biggest crashes where not my fault :rolleyes: (technically)

Auto-X'ing for a year should be manditory.

And I'll be there.
 
...I would recommend an SCCA driver school, they usually have them in the Sping sometime..if you have a car. As mentioned, that licence is good anywhere. And they are inexpensive.

I jumped in with both feet back in '88 with a Tiga Sports 2000, this was the 1st of 2. at Sears Pt. during school. Great cars and cheap to run and cheap to buy then.

Maybe think about a older FF, you can still get those a reasonable price and they a sooo easy to work on, easy on tires etc vs a sedan or??
That was one if the great things about the SP2000 also.

Yea...That would be both feet..

Beyond my ability now...and I've been driving for a few years :eeek:

Learning about all these other fine affordable racer cars is nice but...There will be no "new" car purchases for the foreseeable future... one crazy impulse buy is enough.
This Midget will no doubt provide me with heaps of fun and experience and be more than adequate for Driver's Schools and Track days. The Glen is closest so that is most likely the first place I will be. The tracks further afield are attractive as well but I am depending on friends for the use of a tow vehicle and the farther away the track the harder the pursuasion is. :smile:
