Yep, Connoly Hide Food.Moss sells it---Keoke-- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

How much will hide food improve things? My car was parked for about 35 years, so the trim panels have completely dried out (I had to have the seats re covered). Will hide food etc recover them, or will I need to replace them as well?

I have found that the dye really prevents penetration of Hide Food or Leatherique's Rejuvenator oil. By just removing the dye with lacquer thinner, the leather is much softer even without the other treatments. Modern dye's like Leatherique are water based so offer some hope that treatments will be more effective in the future.

HI John, In my Daimler Saloon where the leather was like cardboard, repeatedly treating them with the car closed up using Hide Food restored the leather to a relatively soft and pliable condition. This took several applications in this case but it worked a treat.---Fwiw---Keoke

I don't think I'll be slathering my leather seats with lacquer thinner any time soon...but thanks for the tip.

Several applications will eventually soften them up a bit.

I like to use the hide food and dilute it with a little bit of water for better penatration on the first few applications. On the later applications, I do not dilute it at all.
