TR6 Carburetor issues at low rpms webers

Poolboy, I know what your saying, and I don't have an answer for you. The car does not lack power and I don't keep track of gas mileage. It came with the Stromberg's on it, which I don't like; so I got these Weber's used off of Ebay, put rebuild kits in them and they have worked great for me for about 10 years now.

I don't really have a question anymore, Terry; your picture answered it.. I was just pointing out the difference between advance and retard.
I have my opinion as to what I would do if I were you...but what the heck, if you're happy, I'm happy.

Poolboy, I've just looked at the vacuum advance conversion that you and TR3 Driver were referring to and it looks like all that is required is changing the vacuum unit and then retiming the the car, would that be correct?

Pretty much, but it won't work unless you supply vacuum from a different location on the carb..one that is appropriate both in amount and rpms...which is entirely different than the location appropriate for retard.
If what you say has been correct for your retard...then you'll have to find a different place for the advance.
That link explains the need for "ported vacuum" to make an Advance work as opposed to "manifold vacuum" which makes a retard work...
