I posted a few weeks ago about my 75 mgb starting and then dying. I just got around to checking this out. Now I can't find that post and your replies. Mind revisiting this?

Someone suggested I pull the fuel line and drain it into a can while the key was on. I got a good flow and then did the same after the in-line filter before the carb. Still a good flow.

So what else would cause the stalling besides poor fuel flow? Engine starts fine, revs to about 2,000 rpms and then dies.

I'm betting it's the ignition relay (on the right side of engine bay just back from the fuse box. You can test by running a hot wire to the coil and trying to start. Just don't leave the hot wire there afterwards.

I concur with David.

My '78 B did the same thing...a couple of times. I now carry a spare relay as well as a jumper wire to use in a dire emergency.

ok, i got it running with a wire from the coil to the ignition relay. It ran rough, but ran.

Does this mean the relay is bad? Need one from the usual suspects before driving?

Condensor

Swap it to a 45D or 25D. Just for kicks and see if the problem goes away.

Wouldn't be condensor then...how's your little light thingee in the electronic ignition look?

Yeah, swap in a points dizzy and see what happens.
