Carb Question with pic

I haven't had more than about 15 minutes to work on this car since I bought it

Is your garage heated?

If not....An easy way to get that done would be to remove your carbs/intake & rebuild on kitchen table.

After the wife kicks you out..........

Line up Guinness outside the garage window for now.
Get a wireless router for BCF.
Pick up a "road-kill" couch.
Give the "Snappy" guy the secret knock and bolt the door. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

BTW...Tell the UPS guy to park around the corner.
(And set the boxes outside the garage door)

Hey, who said I didn't have a garage, or a heated garage! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif
Actually, its the garage (okay, and kids) that is why I haven't had time to work on the car - I'm still trying to finish it!
See, I wasn't planning on buying this car right now. But they don't come up for sale very often, and since I've been looking, never has one come up for sale so close to me, so I had to snag it. But the timing isn't good, because I've got some things that unfortunately have to come before it.
But that doesn't mean I can't learn about it, right?

Absolutely correct!

"Forewarned is forearmed." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

In that case....No problem.

You've got 3 months to get it straightened out.
(April 1st is when I like to have everything together here in western Pa.)

First Auto-X is the 2nd weekend & Nelson Ledges is the Friday after that.

(55 degrees is about as cold as I can manage)

So you're not that far away from me then. I guess you wouldn't mind coming over to help, huh? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Explicit heat, or implicit heat?/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Huh? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Hey, the garage has hydronic floor heat (okay, it's not hooked up yet!), 80k btu of infrared radiant heat (uh, it's not hooked up yet either), and a 150k portable gas heater (Surprise, it works!). I also have a frig full of beer. Although I'm not a Guiness type of guy, I'd stock it full of the stuff just for you! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Seriously, I'm not trying to pressure you into helping me. But just an FYI - You are less than 1-1/2 hrs from me. We go to Grove City now and then so my wife can shop the outlet stores. Do you autocross with the Steel Cities region SCCA? Have you ever run an Akron Sports Car Club or NeOhio event? I haven't run in a couple years, but have otherwise been autocrossing since the early 90's, and it's definitely in the cards for the 2500M.

Oh bother!!! I left there (Steel Cities Region) over 25 years ago... NOW you guys start to show up. Sheesh. Go help 'im out, Dave.

My "facility" was HEATED, near-as-dammit a machine shop, and not TEN minutes away from what's now BeaveRun!!!

....timing is everything.

I'm the opposite here... Originally from the steel area (wheeling, WVa)... but all the cool stuff seemed to happen here in AL before we moved here in 1981.

YEEEE-Haaaaa..... A TVR guy in my own back yard!

With an almost heated garage and a fridge!

Let me know when yer in the area & I'll do the same.
(My heated garage is 3 miles from the Grove City factory shops)

Your wife can shop and we'll bench race & meet her later at a very nice local restaurant. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Doc,
What a bummer.....You move to Florida & they go and build a racetrack behind yer house. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cryin.gif

Yup. But I've been gone from the Valley for nearly 30 years. There wasn't much to hint at THAT ever happening back then. Not that it would have dissuaded me... My 'allergy' to winter kicked in around November first, most years after 1974. Took another five or so before I'd pin-pointed the 'source' and took corrective action. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Hey David, does your brother with the TVR live near you? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Heck yeah....Close enough so we only needs one outhouse. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I need to see that thing!

Sure........We have all kinds of stuff to look at......

4 ZS 175 carbs in various stages of rebuild.
Real exploded views of various engine carcasses everywhere.
Stacks of muddy Hoosiers & a brand new Christmas Accusump to install.

In fact.....The only 2 cars that are totally together are my Bro's Vixen & 67 GTO.
