I recently changed the carbs on my six. One of them is leaking. It seems to do it on start-up. I'm not sure if it's happening as I'm driving (smells like it), and I know it's not leaking while the car is off. I also think that I may detect the pleasant odour of gas in my oil. Again, not sure. Any ideas?? Any assistance would be most appreciated. Thanks
 
The gas in the oil could mean that it is flooding out. Sounds to me like the float may be stuck allowing the bowl to over fill. The fuel can then just be sucked into the throat of the carb. This would make your engine run extremely rich. I would try and correct this before I ran the engine too much. Should be pretty easy to check the float. There is a triumph section on this bbs and I'm sure those guys are more familiar with the TR-6 than us spridget guys.

Yes, I also agree that it is probably the float, I have had that problem with two cars. Tap the bowl gently to see if it stops, if not you will need to take off the top and see why the float is getting stuck, probably just a sticky valve.
