Hey Bob,
I'm thinking along the same lines as Keoke, try Joe Curto or Apple Hydraulics.
Know they both do a great job on refurbishing SU's and based on my experience,
definitely worth the cost to have them go over the carbs. Of course you've
got three to fix so more costly.

I suspect most, if not all kits are ultimately from SU Burlen. Usually, there are two 'levels' of kits: a less expensive kit with basic replacement parts (jets, needles, gaskets, O-rings), and a more expensive kit that includes the basic stuff plus major overhaul items (e.g. throttle plates and shafts). I don't see how you can have one kit for 'everything Austin,' since there are significant variations in the carbs for different cars.
One problem not solved by kits is worn throttle shaft bushings. If you have much, if any play around the throttle shafts you can: 1) ream the bushes and install oversized shafts, or 2) replace the bushes (and the shafts if there's any wear). Apple did a decent overhaul on my BJ8's HD8s.

Well BOB, all of the good rebuild kits I have seen contain the necessary parts to rebuild a carb. In the case of the HD8's my kits included but were not limited to: new shafts, new butterflies and 0.015" Teflon shaft bushes as well as the shaft gland washers.--Keoke

Like I said, some kits come with the shafts and plates and some don't.

housings and usually result in splitting the carb body
at the shaft locations.
Interesting enough I spent quite a bit of time at the San Diego car show trying to stop the air leaks around several of these fractured carb repairs.
One Particular gentleman was the famous "Chuck Anderson" of Healey lore. When I had done all I could do for him I suggested he get a new Mechanic that understood how to repair a SU carb. I think he took my advice since he moved to Virginny.----Keoke

Yep. The earlier SUs had a similar arrangement--the later side-pull spring setup was a regression IMO.
