Carb gaskets

Whitephrog

I'm about to reinstall my single HIF44 carb on the Whitephrog. I decided to replace all the gaskets even though the old one had only 1500 miles on them. I have three square gaskets on the manifold side and one irregularly shaped gasket on the air filter side. An adhesive had been applied to the old square shaped gaskets. Tough to get off.

Do I really need an adhesive (RTV?) on these gaskets or can they just go on bare?

Hap,
Would there be a problem in greasing them up?
That way they would come off cleanly the next time.
Cheers,
Adrian

Grease is better'n RTV. The RTV is NOT compatible with fuel. Hylomar THIN film will be okay as well.

I install them dry, maybe a tick of hylomar, but I don't, they normally ccome off pretty easy when installed dry, unless they are 30 years old
