Say "hello" to the newest victim. I came home from work today, looking forward to taking the Sprite out for a spin, when I noticed a glint of chrome coming through the car cover. Hmmm. That's weird. So, I go over to have a look and see the cover is torn. ?? I go to inspect it and almost cut my hand open on the smashed headlight and chrome trim ring. !!! What the ...!!!

Needless to say, once I removed the car cover it was obvious that someone had used some sort of blunt instrument (baseball bat, large bottle, etc.) to inflict the damage. It's not horribly expensive to replace a headlight and a trim ring, and thank God there's no real damage to the body...but... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

And yes, I live in an apartment complex and my car is only parked under a covered parking stall. I know, I can't expect everyone to be a saint...but come on... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

Years ago, I drove my Lancia HPE to DC to attend an Army class....went out to dinner one night & parked in the farthest spot from the front door squatting dead in the middle of 2 spaces....in a huge, almost empty parking lot....came out an hour or so later & the parking lot was still empty...except for the one car parked so close to me that I couldn't even get to the door...& who pasted 2 big pieces of paper across my windshield with a glue that wouldn't turn loose (insurance had to replace the windshield)

...don't want to say what I did with my 'blunt' instrument but bet he couldn't see to drive home that night nor could the cars behind him see when he stopped!

You're excused for anything you do to the - - - - !
 
I had the guy who LIVED next door to me vandalize 3 of my cars on Halloween night a couple of years ago.
I can't prove it,but I know he did it.
Sprayed some kind of chemical on the Cortina MKII & MKIII,& sprayed Coke or some other soft drink on our Aerostar van.Ruined the finish on all 3 vehicles.
He did window cleaning for a living.LOWLIFE!

One nice thing about living in a old mill hunky area....

Lunch boxes are off limits & vehicle vandalism is nearly unknown.

You big city fellas would call it vigilante justice. (We all have kin in common up here & don't got no cops that object to things getting "worked out by themselves")
 
I once hear a story (don't the guilty always deflect the blame) ....

Walmart or any hunting store carries an item called "Skunk scent" -- a two part mix that sure smells like the real thing. Drop a cup or two into an offenders car (foam seats are a wonderful thing) and presto. You'll have the last laugh !

the guy was obviously a founder member of the small winkle club. imagine being threatened by only half of a v8. what would he have done if it was a corvette - broken both headlights?

seriously - cut his heart out with a blunt spoon. hangings too good for him...
 
not my midget, but last Ocober, not 3 weeks after I had bought my infiniti, I walked up to it in the place where I had parked it, to find that the whole front end had been smashed up. did 3700 in damage, and I hadn't made a single payment yet. but yeah, I fear for the persons life that tries to mess with my midget.

Thanks for all the support. I don't know who did it, but I have a pretty good idea. There's a group of little "wannabes" that hang out on one end of the apartment complex, often times late at night. I'm sure a small little car with a burbly bumblebee exhaust would threaten their supposed "manhoods," hence enciting their wrath.

Skunk scent sounds good to me. Or a can of tuna left out in the sun for a day or two. Little SOB's.

Oh well, at least it spurred me into replacing both front headlights. Now I have the ability to see (clearer) at night. Still, they smashed up a perfectly good chrome headlight ring, and upon closer inspection they did put a slight dent into the passenger side wing. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonod.gif
