He is a picture of the engine and it is red, and I think the frame was red, and so was under the hood only.

My 3A was originally Pearl White, as was the frame, which is now mostly black. Doubt that the engine color is original, just bling. Even the prop rod is blinged out (yuk).
 
It was not unheard of for the frame to be body color, but the engine was invariably black on the TR2-3B. My observation and from what I have read.

You are 100 percent correct Tink! :iagree:
Engines were available in any color just so it was black.

However, most had some red painted letters and numbers to designate the car in which they would be used. We have added this detail to the project car for authenticity:smile:
