Hi Folks.

I am looking for a small car lift that maybe only goes up 4 feet, as I have limited ceiling height in my garage.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
Ron

Your choices may be guided by how you want to work on the car.

Some lifts (often scissors style) are specifically made for raising the car a short ways for suspension work and such, but may block access to some of the systems (e.g. exhaust).

Others like a 4-post give great access underneath but require an extra step (jack tray & jack stands) for suspension work.

2 post lifts may give the best access but may also be the most expensive and also have structural (slab) considerations.

This is the 4-post lift I got (and the company I got it from): https://www.eagleequip.com/product/MS-8000.html

A 4-post lift may be more functional that what you require but you may find the price attractive enough to get one even if you cannot use it at full height.

4 post was my choice for a lot of different reasons and you can stop it any point in the lift process about every 6 or 8 inches where the safety locks latch in. Good luck on the hunt

Depending on your garage construction, and how much work you do on cars..........My garage is free standing with a gable roof....I raised the roof over the hoist area and installed a 2 post lift....best value for money I have ever spent.
Or, follow "Geo's" suggestions.

I'm likely going with a BendPak 4 post lift. When we built our new garage, we specifically laid out one bay for a lift.
