According to my British Heritage certificate for my BN6, it came into the US in California, which is where I purchased it, and as far as I know, CA is the only state the car was ever registered in. I have heard that it is possible to obtain "historical records" of a specific car from the state DOT. Is this true?

When I tried to get CAL vehicle history I went through official channels & was informed that there was nothing available for anything older than the past three years or some such. I peeled off layers of black plate stickers going back to 1964. When I bought the car, the title had not been transfered from the previous owner going back to 1991. I tried to trace him & found that he was deceased some years ago. The guy I got the car from somehow managed to get me a current CAL title to transfer.

If anyone knows a way to get older CAL car history, I would like to know also. I'm pretty sure that the car remained in CAL for most of it's life. The plate number is BEA 744. The 1964 plate tag # is 5681031.

California is not very friendly to old cars. They want them off the streets. So I've been told when I tried to get the old black plate on my 64. They feel old cars don't show up enough with small tail lights and little reflecting surface. They don't want to be bothered talking to you with an older car (smog and all). I had a congressperson find this all out for me.

Hi Nevets,
Have you contacted the 100-6 registry? They may have some info and you can update the car with yours. My Healey Resource book list Rudy as the registry holder. His email is coming to you in a PM.
