Car doesn't like my shoes [Brake fluid in cockpit]

I think I see the hole that was mentioned earlier, just above the left wire. I'll try squirting some brake cleaner in there.

The hole mentioned is on the end that screws into the union.

The switch will have to be removed to clean it! You should not get enough air in the line by removing it to require bleeding the brakes, but if you feel that the pedal is softer afterwards, that may need to be done!

I'm having the same issue Drew mentioned. Can't get the switch loose from the brass union. What's the secret for removing it.

Re: Car doesn't like my shoes [Brake fluid in cock

No secret, just brute strength. I put the brass union in a vice and used a big wrench on the sender.

I tried everything I could think of, Ray. Used a torch, vise, big wrench. Eventually ChrisS sent me a new union and I bought a new switch. I never could get the switch out.

Ahh, that makes sense. I may still end up bleeding the brakes depending on what's going on with that leak over by the MC.

Any idea where you can buy the LMA brake fluid? I checked Autozone and NAPA at lunch and didn't have any luck.

Also the local NAPA was apparently backordered on the brake switch. The guy said to order it off the website. <shrug>

Re: Car doesn't like my shoes [Brake fluid in cock

Got both problems figured out tonight.

Fluid leak:
DPO didn't use a gasket on the master cylinder cover.

Brake lights:
Switch was wired up backwards.

So I'm off to order a gasket and LMA fluid.

Hey hey, a solution. Good work, glad they were straight forward.
