Can anyone identify this car badge? SCC is probably sports car club but we are wondering about the LR. The lady who owned it was living in Michigan and said that she and her husband were in a sports car club.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Tinkerman

Little Rock?

Google comes up with "Lansing Regional Sister Cities Commission'
It was first formed in 1968.
Don't know for sure, but is in Lansing Michigan.

Can't find any other results this close.

LR could possibly stand for, Lake Region.

Thanks all, for your input. I kind of like Lake Region. Makes sense based on where the folks were living. Going to check out the Michigan Sports Car Club.

Cheers, Tinkerman

Dick, Did you find out anything about the badge? Just curious. PJ

I had feelers out a while back for someone to recognize the old sticker on my TF windshield, but no positive Ids. Think it's from California. The S J H could stand for a lot of things, I was just hoping someone would recognize it. We think it's a parking permit. PJ

The problem with identifying it is Don, it must be at least 20 years old, probably much older, as I was told the car sat in a barn somewhere for 16 years before the last two owners had it and I'm not sure how long that was. It's a curiosity thing that might give some info on past ownership. PJ

Paul - I still think there's a T on that logo (top of the J). STJH or TJSH ...?

Oh boy, Now there's more to consider! :jester: You know Tom, like Tinkermans badge, because there's so many possibility's, it'll probably take someone who actually knows this decal to say what it really is. I even wrote to a couple hospitals in California to see if anyone recognized it and no one did. Like I said before, 20 to 30 years is a long time for someone to remember. I can't remember something I saw three days ago! CRS you know!

Got a fiver says it is St Joseph's Hospital somewhere.

John, That was the one that got the most votes. The hospitals in Ca. I wrote to were St. Josephs. No answers though. PJ

Maybe St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, Ca.

Long Running Sports Car Club? or maybe Little Red Sports Car Club?

OK - here's my vote. Lake Region Sports Car Club. In the March 28, 1959 issue of Competition Press (bi-monthly newsletter), on page 6, Dic van der Feen writes in his column "From the Midwest":

<span style="font-style: italic">"Beyond the SCCA picture the Middle West will present an impressive amount of sports car club action — a growing development that is a clear sign of the sport being in good health. At the moment, the following clubs have firm speed event dates at the Wilmot Hills course alone: Alfa Romeo Owners Club, Four Forwards Sports Car Club, Midwest Sports Car Club, Chicago MG Car Club, Vintage Sports Car Club (photographers, please note!) and the Porsche Club of America with the Chicago-Milwaukee Region hosting the annual Porsche Parade. In addition, others, including Lake Region Sports Car Club, look to have race dates coming up at Wilmot."</span>

I have the newsletter in pdf, so if anyone wants to read the whole thing (lots of memories there!), PM me and I'll email it.

Tom

Also, just found a newsletter (online) from Snic-Braaapp (Illinois Sports Owners Assn). May 1984 calendar: "May 20 - Slalom given by Lake Region Sports Car Club in McHenry (Illinois)."

Thanks Tom, pretty clear indication that it was the Lakes Region Sports Car Club. Works for me.

Thanks, Tinkerman
