ive rolled out the edge of the body seal
and i still cant push down hard enough
to get the bolt holes lined up.....
i also have new post rubbers that arent
helping anything....
ive screwed down the center rod support
to keep the windshield from moving around
and to keep the seal lip out, but no luck
even leaning on the corner heavy......z

zimmy, I had to trim the windshield gasket a little bit so it would fit better with the post seals. I ended up having my buddy sit on top. After we trimmed the seal a bit it went much easier.

Zim I got a tapered punch in one hole on one side and then pushed down and got one on the other. Then used the punch to help line up the bolt for the other hole. Did this on each side until I got all the bolts in.

Lashing strap all the way around the car with padding to keep it from damaging the paint. Strap goes over the "ears" at the bottom of the mounting posts.

both good ideas id also thought of.....

i thought a helper would do, but.....no luck
with that.........

not extreme zimmy, I've done two that way with a thin ratcheting lashing strap.

Im going to be replacing all this stuff within the next week. Care to explain?

Re: cant... install... windshield.......help wante

You know the nylon straps that have a ratcheting mechanism for securing loads? I have one that is about 1.5 inches wide and long enough to go around the car (as in across the bulkhead down the side and underneath). So I set the frame in place then tighten the strap so the it pulls the ears at the bottom of the mounting posts down into place. Of course I pad the strap so that it doesn't rub the paint.

Ah, ok. Thanks. I'll keep it in mind when I do this job.
