Yes & no. They had rust in spots all around that might have been repairable but there were so many areas that needed repair on the whole it was not worth saving. It killed me to do this as I actually drove this car for some time. Once I started the tear down, there was no turning back. If I did not completely disassemble I may have had a chance for a quickie body job but then hind sight is 20/20.

It was a wire wheel car.

I just cut her up yesterday and will hang the cowl on my garage wall for sentiment.

Look at it this way, some must die, so others can live.

Here's one last cry, I have a 1972 tub with some rust in the trunk floor and the rear, but it's way saveable, but I do not have room for it. It's free, it's in Greenville, SC and is about two weeks away from going to the crusher, anyone interested give me shout and do it quick.

I'd take a look at some pics but they would haunt me to.I have a line on a 1972 full car needing I believe only a passenger floor. It is tough to look at when I am in NY.

I've got a nice 74 tub here, Jeff, but that probably doesn't help either, now does it. Nothing is close to Utah. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks, Drew. I guess I'm just going to have to suck it up, break out the welder, and fix the '72 and '74 I've got here.
Even if I was in my Northern California location, your place would be a hike.

We're hours/days away from pretty much anywhere. We like to say that "there's miles and miles of miles and miles" out here.

Doug, my brother lives in Winters, about 30 miles west of Sacto. 10 miles from the driveway to Lake Berryessa. Kind of the Southern edge of what I would call Northern California.

Where are you at in Utah. I get up and down the 15 as far as SLC every now and then. Even an occasional trip to Logan.

I'm in Midway, which is about 40 miles southeast of Salt Lake City.

I know Midway. It is just off whatever that highway is that I take up Provo canyon when I'm headed to Trial Lake to catch those goofy orange trout.

Let's see...

I GAVE my brother a 3/4 ton Chevy and a 16' heavy-duty flatbed trailer a couple of years ago. It shouldn't be too much of an imposition to ask him to head up from Orem and grab a tub for me...

Oh! I forgot. SWMBO would kill me slowly and painfully when she found out. Hmmm...

How do I keep her from finding out???

DARN! Aint gonna work out.
