Spending it hanging drywall - which, while boring is progress! <Rhetorical> question. Why is it that in an almost entirely empty 8X9' room I still lose my tools every time I put them down?

BTW USA friends, is your big 4th weekend this weekend or next?
 
JP - here in the USA, Independence Day is, and always will be, July 4. Even tho' independence from Britain was actually declared on July 2, 1776, the Fourth became the "big day" (long story). Traditionally, each state and locality decide on activities to celebrate the event, and those activities are often on a weekend, before or after July 4.

At Old Sturbridge Village where I'm a volunteer, Independence Day is *the* big holiday, followed high up on the list by Thanksgiving Day. Even 200 years ago, local governments decided when to celebrate Independence - and it wasn't always on July 4. Same for Thanksgiving; back in the old day, each locality decided when it wanted to celebrate "the first Pilgrim harvest".

Here's a sample of what we've got planned; this year it's on July 4. For the first time, we're adding a big Naturalization Citizenship ceremony during the afternoon festivities.

Since the 4th is next Thursday, it's next weekend.
I should be working too, but just too hot outside. Going for a swim instead.

The better question is, Why does JP keep setting his tools down between studs? :highly_amused:
 
That is a good argument to start the sheetrock high and then work your way down to the floor. Fewer chance to drop stuff behind half a wall.
 
That's the problem - nothing between studs (well except me and my helper - someone had to say it :grin:) just clueless
