Can you identify this fan?

I bought some used parts for the 4A, which included this six-blade fan that I was going to put on Dear Old Dad's 4. It does not look like the one on my 4A. The major difference is the scalloped tips.

Does anyone know if there are two types of the six-blade "Tropical" fan or if this is a fan for another car? If it is the latter, what does it go on? There are traces of yellow paint and I did not see any markings.

Thanks in advance,
Jeremy

I believe the fan is MG related, possibly MGA. I bought a similar one a while back - not sure yet if it is usable, it is definitely not a bolt on option. We might want to compare notes on the seller, as I bought mine because it was advertised as a 6 bladed TR fan, and it is most definitely not one..

MGB six-blade metal fan has cutouts like that.
I gave the VIN numbers for ya over on the MG forum.

Jeremy: at first I thought it might me a TR "tropical fan". However, after looking closely at the one I have, the blades are a different shape and the pitch is more severe. I can tell you this much. I don't believe it's from a TR.

I think Randy is right about it being MG related but I don't think the MGA fan blades are shaped quite like that.

(I've owned a few and can't wait to restore another!) -love the look of the 'A. I hope I'm not blasted for that comment since I'm on the Triumph forum!
