Has anyone found a solution to bringing leather seats back to life? The seats in my other 67 GT are original but very dry and not supple. I'd like to keep them but don't want to do anyting until I learn what can be done first.

Mink oil!

(seriously - it works!)

Lexol is a good commercially available product as well.

Saddlesoap will help in cleaning prior to conditioning.

There are plenty of good products out there, but what really matters is the quality of the leather. Leather quality varies wildly and really good leather will last for many decades if carefully maintained.

Unless the hide is dried up (e.g., widespread cracking and surface peeling with powdery stuff on the surface), there's a lot you can do to bring leather upholstery back to life. Do a web search, there's a lot of info out there regarding how to rehab leather.

In many cases, it's easily worth a try. Sometimes, the results are very good. It must be carefully, painstakingly cleaned first with the correct cleaning agents. Several steps involved, not really hard to do.

I used to work in a leather shop, long time ago. It's all in the hides, man! :yesnod:

I used to use mink oil on our saddles, harnesses and other leather tack, it does make leather supple However it also darkens the shade of the leather significantly {of no consequence on tack} It will work to soften your leather if your leather is, like mentioned above, quallity hide. Just be aware that it is going to have a darkening effect.

I vote for LEXOL!
& if they need redying, Eastwood has a kit that does a nice job.

Yes, but I found the mooing to be quite annoying.

I saw that coming up the farm lane from a mile away. (I am glad you said it before I did)

Here....let me milk that one for all it's worth!

(Wish I would have thought of it....but you can bet that I've filed it for use later!)

I used Lexol on my T bird white leather seats and they looked and felt like new. Great stuff and easy to find. But, and I mean butt, let them set over night before setting on them in a new pair of light tan slacks!

Not sure what leather was used when they first made the cars in 1967 so I can only guess.

The seats are Black with White piping.
