This is the center console out of my 1980 TR7 as you can see a lot of wear and tear on it. Any way to referbish? IE new stickers/decals for the heater and vent contols and what about the proper dye/paint for the panal?

Thats about the roughest one I have ever seen. You can respray with grey vinyl dye, but all the writing is stenciled on. Best bet is to track down a decent used one. You could probably find one for $25 or so. Originally the whole dash was black, but soon after the introduction of the convertibles, it became apparent that the black plastic caused too much glare, and got hot to the touch. The solution was to spray them grey. If you want to get creative, take the whole dash out and spray it another color. Here is a picture of one I did in tan to match the interior and canvas top.

Thanks George. There is over 100k on this car so a lot of wear and tear. I was hoping someone could tell me the gray paint code and that someone was making repo stickers for the lettering. I've got a local guy I can check with for parts.

TR8 todd. That looks great! Wish I had the time to do something like that. I'm restoring my TR3 and tring to get it done by August to drive it to TRFs summer party.

I'm restoring my TR3 and tring to get it done by August to drive it to TRFs summer party.

Unfortunately, the Summer Party was just officially canceled:

Switching subjects now. I had intimated earlier that TRF might not hold Summer Party this year, and I must now make that decision official. All of us here love Summer Party, but this year must be a year of hard work for me and the staff. The TR250, TR6 catalogue will be printed in a couple of weeks, and I want to have a new TR2, TR3 catalogue up on the web site before the end of summer, along with some progress on TR7, TR8. I also want to attend the TRA National Meet, the VTR Convention, and Triumphest with parts displays. With John Swauger, a knowledgeable employee of thirty-five years, retiring, there just isn’t enough manpower to go around this year, and I want to take a year to regroup on Summer Party. Believe me, this has been a hard decision to make, but I think it is the right one for the good of the company and for customers too, as we need to upgrade the information we provide for markets we have been trying to serve without adequate cataloguing.

Wow, John's retiring. Hard to believe it's been that long. It was fun meeting and talking Triumphs with Charles and John back in the early 80s at Hershey and the British Car Day (Bowie, MD) shows.
