filling my clutch master cylinder with fluid?

I've reassembled it all, filled the MC with fluid but that is where the action ends.

I've tried pumping clutch
pumping clutch while opening/ shutting bleeder valve. - bith ways, ie open when push closed when return and vice cersa.

nothing is happening - what am I missing?
 
Is the clutch master all bolted in nicely?

Some have reported that filling it while unattached and lifting it up high does the trick.

that was my new idea!
quick ,clean , and easy :wink:

attach it to the line,
fill it, pump it up slowly
while rockin it back and forth,
then when all the bubble r gone,
cap it and reinstall.....
u SHOULD b finished at this point.

the problem at this moment is not the bleeding, it's actually getting the liquid through the hose to the slave.

Zimmy can you recount your method, or point me to the thread - thanks
 
Yes Zimmmy - you were who I was thinking about but I've heard it from others as well.

JP - with the slave open and pumping the master you are not getting any fluid to flow?

how far open do I open the slave? I had it finger loose.
 
Personally I would open it up wide to get some flowing then close it down.
First you have to get some fluid flowing, so to make sure it's not the bleeder blocking you need to basically do a bit of the old process of elimination.
 
tube is brand new - I'll spend some time this morning and let you know.
 
The tube is small enough that the fluid with hydraulic lock and not let it go. I had to use a vacuum rig at the clutch slave to get it moving. It might help to pull the slave out of the transmission and let it droop down. I did bench bleed the clutch master but that didn't seem to make a difference since there is so much air in a new clutch pipe. It took several tries at vacuum and refill to rid the pipe and slave of air bubbles. Good luck man.
If you don't have a vacuum pump (mity-vac) you probably rent one from the parts store or you can buy them at HF for around 25 bucks. You will thank yourself for the purchase down the road.
