Can someone please name this part for me?

Just don't put it back in. This is my choice. for the short term anyway.

That would be my first choice but the studs coming from the manifold are not threaded until the last inch or so...so without the spacer I run out of thread to seal the carb to the manifold.

Not only that but the shape of the carb would not allow you to seat the carb against the intake manifold without changing the mount studs. At least two of the mounting studs will impact against the carb body preventing you from getting it all the way to the manifold.

Without a doubt, the easiest work around without getting the proper replacement part is to fabricate a spacer of the same thickness as the heater element.

Or buy a non cracked one from Tony for a song. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Again, changing things will only cause problems - & the ZS will continue to get the blame...why not hook everything up like it was originally designed?

good point, Tony. I still have mine on my car. Whether or not it's working I dunno, but it's hooked up like it's supposed to be, and not leaking air, or fuel as far as I can tell.

If your car starts easily on a cold morning, its working properly!

Mine will start on a 10 degree morning on the first try (after I stop hearing the pump ticking)... With no choke... but then I get 12 MPG too... running "a little rich" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif hehehehehhe.

mmmm... yeah... yer just a tad on the rich side of things... I've been averaging 20 to 25MPG lately, depending on my driving style.

I just moved all the cars around again (to cut the grass), and the battery felt weak on the MGB, so I let it run for about 15minutes to re-charge the battery... had to rev it a couple times to clear all the carbon from the system while it was idleing - sent some major smoke signals. I've got the HS6 here that doc sent me, I need to put it on there soon, and tune it. My ZS is missing half it's parts (mostly the entire water choke assembly), and no matter what adjustments I make to it, it doesn't seem to change anything.
