I am removing this pump from my '51 TD and will be replaced with a better pump. I hope someone can figure out what car or whatever it may have been on originally. It sure is interesting looking.
Today was a great day to be working on my British cars. Sunny and highs in the upper 40s.

I pulled one off a TD as well some time back. I threw it in a pile with some others. I am interested to see what you heard about it.

Don't know what that one is; but, here's what it should look like:

Probably wrong but, it reminds me a lot of an old Mallory pump I had on a 37 Ford flathead hot rod. The one I had was adjustable for pressure.
 
Stewart Warner I believe. May also be tagged as a Mallory or someother brand, but I think they were originally built by Stewart Warner. I haven't seen one of those in years, has the filter bowl on the bottom and a priming plunger on the top. A neat piece of auto history.

Bill, your probably right, as I did use a lot of S&W stuff back then. Offy heads, Mallory ignition, Edelbrock manifold with two 97s on it. Ah, those were the days. I'd work two weeks just to get enough money to buy something else. :jester:

Go pull that pump out of the junk pile. I wonder what a "vintage" working pump would be worth? Might pay for a new style SU pump.
 
Because it's new old stock, it would naturally be worth a lot more than a used one, but he's stating that it's unique to a Shelby and that's not true. It was an off the shelf pump that could be bought almost any where. Actually, Pep Boys sold them back in the 50s and I think they were around 30 bucks each, which was a lot of money back then. I had two or three of them at one time and because I have a lot of old fuel pumps, there might be one in a box of junk somewhere still. A lot of hot rodders had them on their cars. Also as was stated earlier, at one time, they were tagged with different names on them, Mallory for one, as that's who's brand I used along with Stewart & Warner. Same pump! I personally wouldn't give the guy over 400 bucks for it, as an old one can be restored to work and look like brand new. But, that's just me. :jester:
 
I believe I will go thru my junk box of fuel pumps. There might even be a couple of those pumps in there. I know I just briefly attempted to power it up when I pulled it off.
