Can anyone identify this bumper

Photo attached. the bumperettes are 28 inches apart, centre to centre. I`ve had this thing lying around for decades and no real idea what it is for, but I`ve gotta start getting rid of junk. If the group can identify it - great! Otherwise it`ll be recycle time. Thanks, Doug

Sure looks like a BE front bumper. I measured the space between the bumperette holes on the crappy BE one I have and it is 28 and 3/8 or maybe 1/2 inches, so likely the same.
Too bad you are so far away or I'd be interested in purchasing.

I just measured 50 and five sixteenths (key board is acting up, and writing it out is clearer than 50 5é16) as the distance between the inside of each `tip` . I can check measurements more precisely as required. Heck, if it is a BE bumper, I might have to keep it! But it`ll be a month or two before I can see if it fits on ours, so advice much appreciated.

Mine measures about 51" so likely the same.

If you haven't ever had it on for years I'm betting you put it on, drive around for a week, and then take it off again. There's a reason why most BE's don't sport these, they're not very enhancing to the car's looks, and the only thing they'll protect against is a sidewalk curb...

My understanding is that they were optional on BEs sold in Canada; both of our BE`s are currently projects (one being in its 50th year of being a project), so now driving around for a few months. I`ll tuck it away, back in the garage attic, until then. Thanks for checking! Doug

I know nothing about Bugeyes but those overriders were fitted to Wolseley 6/90, Wolseley 4/44 and some big Healeys. If it is a Wolseley it is a rear bar and most likely the smaller 4/44.
