Hmmm? An MGB TC you say? Well stating the obvious first – I would think this is a mistake and your are talking about a MG TC. Or it’s an MGB “Trailer Car”?

Anybody else want to chime in on this one?

That is a very nice looking Automobile, I haven't seen the car but if I can I will give this guy a call. Thanks for the Picture

Great pic Gary, I have an excellent pic of an MG TC too, just no way to post it on here.

Anyway, back to the original question, I've got to think that the reference to an MGB TC is just simply a typo and the guy means MG TC (as pictured by Gary), and I've seen lots of them. I browse classifieds a lot, for a hobby (kind of) and for my club newsletter, and I've seen too many weird typos to even begin listing them. I could probably start a column for all the typos I've seen in ads, and I think many are typed wrong by the publishers not the people submitting them.

For more information about "Ts," check out the website of the r New England MG T Register.

(Despite the name, it is the national organization of MG Ts.)

By the way, there are MGTCs, TDs, and TFs. They were the immediate precursors to the MGA, followed by the B.

I'd love to have a T. We've got quite a few in our MG club. They are fun hobby cars . . . but I don't know anyone who makes one a daily driver!

slight stray from the subject, but I've seen MGs advertised several times with wording like "MGB Midget", and "MG Midget B", etc. The replica ads are fun too, lots of "1936 MGTD" replicas out there

I have seen ads for MG Spitfires. Because after all - aren't all British sports cars MGs?

When I was looking for my first car all those years ago, I answered an ad for a "1976 MGB Midget". I asked the seller is it a B or a Midget. He was convinced it was an "MGB Midget". I kept asking questions, like what engine it had ("a four cylinder"), options (it was a "Special", the '76 only trim package with the stripes), and what the car looked like, and eventually got the guy to say it had black rockers and badges that said "Midget"....but none that said "MGB". He was still convinced that he had an MGB Midget.

It has got to be that one and only MGB Twin Cam that was built in 1963 and hidden in a barn someplace as a prank by BMC. My Uncle Lucas is the guy who chose the barn. The idea was to drive MG authorities crazy looking for it. It has been found at last! Let the insanity begin!! Oops. Got tomorrow mixed up with APRIL 1st. Sorry.

Check out classiccarmall.com to see several that are for sale. There is an MGYT featured on the home page from here in Fort Worth, that looks better in person than the pictures shown. Supposedly, there are only a half dozen or so registered in the US, and it is a steal for the asking price, for someone wanting this type of car. At 48 HP, it's primarily a touring car. (I just bought an Austin Healey from the same collector this week.) He has an MGA that's for sale and an MGB GT that is super clean, also for sale.
