Can a TF engine be installed in a TD body?

I have four engines for two TD cars and the engine that looks the best is from a TF. Will it fit in a TD?

Same basic engines; the TD's and first year (1954) TF's were designated "XPAG" and were 1250 cc's, while the second, and last, year TF's got a bored-out (1500 cc) engine, designated "XPEG".

You say the TF engine looks the best. Any idea of its condition, or the condition of the others?

they are both 1250s with the main difference being the ring gear and clutch. you will need to switch out the water inlet at the head, as a tf uses a thermostat in the head.
the tf 1500 will mostly have the same changes.

According to the car shows you can put any engine into anything.

I will have a TD engine that I will part, with but it is in CA and it will be a year before I get it to VA.
