Camshaft change , oil pan has to be removed ?

Hello @ all,

does anybody know, if the camshaft should be changed, which parts has to be removed ?
My BT7 engine is out, but finished and new sealed.
Now I would like to install a faster camshaft, and I would like know if I has to open the oil pan again?
(to remove the oil pump shaft)
Clear the distributer has to be removed and the side covers to pull the followers.
Is the oil pump gear able to rotate if I pull the camshaft from the frontside of the engine?
I read three different manuals, only in one manual they wrote that the oil pan hast to be removed.

Yes, you must pull the oil pan, remove the oil pump and take out the oil pump driving spindle. Be careful not to loose the hardened steel thrust washer. On motors that have been run the washer usually stays stuck to the spindle because of the oil. On fresh engines they can easily drop off and can get lost.
