Calling all SU experts - Volvo HS6 Carbs

Random question - I have a 100-6 with a later engine from a 3000. The PO moved the SU HD6 carbs over to the 3000's engine. I've looked into buying a set of HS6 carbs which should be paired with my engine, but have found that few are available on eBay set up for an Austin Healey.

There are, however, tons for Volvos. I imagine the needles, jets, and other fiddly bits that go inside might need to be replaced via an overhaul kit, but are there any other differences? Anyone know of a guide for a conversion I could follow?

Example of a cheap pair of Volvo carbs:

Yes there is a SU specification book that will tell you the HD6 parts you need for that engine.
I am out of town now and my book is not here others on the forum may have one and
Give you the name and source.
Burlen LTD the current SU Vendor also has manuals available.

I don't get it. Early 3000's have HD6 carbs. What's the problem?

I don't get it either. HD6 carbs are correct for a 3000 engine unless it's a BJ8 with HD8 carbs (or a tricarb).

If the HD6s came from the 2.6L engine, you only need the needles for a 3000 and the piston return springs.

I have a BJ7 engine in the car which should have had twin HS6s on it - it has HD6 from the original engine instead. I'd like to reunite the original engine with the car eventually.

YEP and the manual I have calls out those parts for each car model that uses a specific SU carb.

Additionally, it calls out rich , standard and lean needle types for each case.
