Looks really cool. Why riding so high in the rear? Fresh suspension do that? I know it's been talked about here not too long ago. My Midget is high in the front....love those spokes (although those look a little ratty in the close up).

Don't know why you didn't connect properly to the ad. Maybe just try craigslist san diego, autos for sale and search for Austin.

Jason - I believe you are correct; the car is high in the rear as one of the new items they listed are rear springs and they definately have that effect!

That one has been on CL before..about a year ago. I think his price has gone up! Doesn't look orange to me..bright, bright red. Looks very similar to my car color, which was a Nissan 300ZX color in 1988 (mine was painted in 1989) It is called 'orange-special' but is by no means a pumpkin orange..

I think so too--the orange is an artifact, common when something red is photographed in bright sunlight with a digital camera.

But 43 MPG? c'mon...!

Steve, it may be a photographic artifact, but he does mention Orange as the color in the description  !...43MPG maybe with an egg on the accelerator and some de-tuning for economy!

It's Jeff actually. I think I need a BE too now....make a great first car for my daughter, no?.....probably not.

Not a bad looking car!!

IF it is a rust-free CA life-long car it would be worth the price! (IMHO)

It has all the nice upgrades:
-1275cc motor
-wire wheels
-disc-brakes
-hard-top
-tilt-fwd bonnet

& lots of other new parts...

-I'd look for signs of past body damage, past rust, & related repairs.
-I'd also check to see if the wheels hubs are from a later WW Midget , or using adaptors :nonono:.
-I'd check that the wheel offset isn't causing any wheel-to-fender rub.
-I'd also closely examine the wheels for loose spokes, and damaged/worn splines at the hubs.
-I'd want to take it out for a drive & see how it rides, handles, brakes, etc. :driving:

IF it all checks out OK, and IF you like the color, it could be worth the price!! (After all, Beauty IS in the eye of the beholder... Probably would be popular w the younger BugEye enthusiast...)

Personally, I hope the seller sells the car for what he is asking...
...then I hope he invests in a Dictionary & a Spell Checker!!
("tonoau" cover, "windsheild", disc "breaks", park "break" cable, rear "break" shoes, rear wheel "cyllindars", master "cyllindar"....) :wall:

-Bear-
