There isn't room for a bird at the top of that tower and there were two people up there???!! And could the camera guy wiggle around just a <span style="font-weight: bold">LITTLE</span> MORE??!! :sick:

Sure as heck, if it was me, the very FIRST thing I'd pull out of the equipment bag I'd DROP! And of course it would the one thng I only had ONE of! And of course I'd also drop the one item needed to put it all back together and would NOT have a spare!

Good thing I work in an office!! :laugh:

Me too - was thinking though that IF I had the nerve to climb that (which I don't, I hate going on the roof of my house) I would definitely have a parachute, not for safety but because I wouldn't want to have to climb all the way down too.
 
I'm a pilot but you get no sense of height from an airplane or helicopter. Climbing on my roof scares the crap out of me. I tried to watch this video and got sick to my stomach REAL QUICK ! No thans...
 
All they had to do is climb it, how'd you like to be the guy who ~built~ it ?!?!?!?!

The the guy who posted it online was deliberately vague (note the de-res'ed face of the partner).

He's since taken it down from his own site because he doesn't want to get the guy in trouble.

I found some Google Earth hound who says it's in Houston Texas, based on the view of the ground below.

And apparently OSHA does <span style="font-style: italic">not </span>allow free climbing towers.

Put me out inna open on a sawhorse and I'll panic an' scream like one.

No idea where it comes from but stepping to an edge is insane compared to a cockpit.

Rides never used to get to me, But about 5 years ago I went on a test drive with another mechanic, and I spent about a half hour or 40 minutes standing on my head in the back seat while he did figure 8s, trying to pinpoint a creak (It wound up being a poor spot weld at the base of the "b" pillar) and I nearly lost my lunch.
It took about an hour before I was not green anymore, and ever since then , Ive been much more sensitive to movement. The last time I did a tilt-o-whirl, it weren't good.

I didn't even get a good start watchin and I'm in the roofing business. Tall buildings with a parapet wall are ok and I have no trouble there, but with a gravel stop eave, you couldn't drive a 10p nail with a 10# hammer up my whatsis. I'm still sucking seat cover even now. :eeek: :eeek: :eeek:
 
I can walk to the edge of a two story house and have no problems. Well, I used to be able to. Half way through this my hands were so sweat covered that I had to shut it off.
 
I am now dialing 1-800-GEICO... You'll have to excuse me but

Used to climb the mast at sea to change the masthead bulbs and would think if I fell now I would hit the deck and when she rolled if I fell I would be lost at sea, but that is just plain crazy.
