Exactly how rare are the C Types? (also known as XK120C) I saw one last weekend at the Gold Cup car show at VIR. I couldn't find any rarity information on the internet.

... And are you sure it was a real one? (not that I doubt you) Pictures? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Yes, a C-Type is very rare, I'd hazard a guess that most people here on BCF have never seen one before, my hand is up on that one. However there are excellent quality replica's that are worth lots of money on their own, and probably look just as stunning as the real thing.

Enjoy the sighting as it could be a very rare sight... There is a 1925 Frazer Nash back in Ontario, I saw it once at a car show in 1999, never saw it again for a couple of years and then saw it again in June 2003 at another show. From talking to the owner I got the impression he didn't take it to shows very often, so I treasure the pictures I do have of it (particularly from the second sighting, the pictures from the first sighting were crappy!)

A company called Proteus sells nice C-type replica-kits (usually they use an XJ6 donor car). I've seen a real one and I've seen the Proteus...the replica is pretty good! Pictures and more info:
