Howdy gang!

As I work through the issue of my leaky MGC, I'm weighing having the radiator fixed locally, or purchasing a new one from Moss. Does anyone have any thoughts on the Moss units, and if they're generally any good? I'm also thinking about the water pump, and also curious if people are satisfied with the units from either Moss or VB.

As always, many thanks and Happy Motoring!

Hi Bill I really do not know about the quality of the aftermarket radiators. However, before I opted for a new one I would have a reputable shop boil it out and determine if it is fixable without compromising its efficiency or have it re cored with a new improved serpentine type.--Fwiw--Keoke

Before I'd ever buy a new radiator, I'd rebuild the old one if possible - & that's not a slam on new rads.

I agree, it's better to stick with the factory tank so you know it fits properly. Have it checked out by a competent shop and re-cored if necessary.

I agree with them. If you can, have the original recored.

However, I can tell you first hand that the New Moss Radiator that I purchased through Mr. Tony Barnhill is an excellent product. Works great, looks right, fits right, and the fittings are all the correct shape! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Agreed with all of the above.

Check with Bob Kirk of Kirk's Auto Refitters for the water pump...he has a good selection of MGC parts...and he has supported the AMGCR and local/national shows for years.

I have a rebuilt MGC radiator in inventory.
