BV and Moss seat covers

tony barnhill said:
I've gotta get some parts that are only available through Moss UK...I'll wait until our next vacation over there & put them in my luggage..that way, I declare them but don't have to pay any tarriffs because they'll be under the amount a citizen is allowed to buy while out of the country.

My wife was in the USA last year and I had an order shipped to her hotel. She gets to the airport, is checking in with carry on luggage, remembers the parts in her luggage, hands the list of parts to the check in guy and asks, "do any of these parts look like a bomb?" Guy assures her they don't but they still scanned her luggage four times -

she loves me that woman does but I didn't hear the end of that one for a bit.

Customs, I haven't ever figured it out, I have ordered hundreds of dollars worth of parts from england before and never been charged customs, my brother has as well, he says he has been charged customs a couple time but mostly not.

The exchange rate has made english purchases a more viable option. I have found a lot of the hard goods about the same over there, but some good deals on the soft bits, tops tonneaus and seat covers.
