BV and Moss seat covers

Does anybody have the Moss or British Victoria seat cover sets in their car? If so, what do you think of it. I am looking to buy a set and want to know if they are worth it. I am looking to get the red with white piping, but if anyone who has bought for a frog or early spridget no matter what color could let me know what the color match, material, ect to original is, I would appreciate it.

Jack has the red Moss kit in his Bugeye.....I sell lots of them....I've got them in several of my cars.

Thanks Tony, I sent Jack a PM after your message. I am hoping someone has a BV set too. If they are the same, we can order from them and save some $$$.

No, no...we all have Moss kits!

I put black Moss seat covers in my Bugeye and they look pretty good. The material they are made from sure seems sturdy enough.

Don't loose the clips when taking the old ones off, as they are pricy to replace from Moss.

Here ya go.

Thanks Jack. VEEEEERY Nice.

AH Spares looks like it may be a lot less than Moss or VB 384.00 for seats and carpeting. You can't check their shipping rates though.

Yes. They will quote you the shipping costs before you finalize the deal. I've found their shipping costs to be very reasonable.

Yes, their page says that about the shipping. It kinda shows what one of the other threads here was talking about with dollar to pound exchange rate. The seats and carpeting for less than the seats alone from Moss. I was leaning toward Moss, but now have to rethink everything.

AND Bryan & gents, what Hap wrote.

I gotta go out but will be adding a "Tale of Woe" with worse results than Hap had. :hammer: :nonod: :nonono:

Ed - where did Hap write a "Tale of Woe"?

Custom's Duties will eventually need to be paid is what Hap wrote about. It took the tax folks 3 years to catch up but eventually they did.

I read Hap's entry.. That and shipping costs are definately something to think about. Tony is checking into the costs from Moss and maybe VB through him as a distributor. Right now VB has them on sale on their site for 319.00 to Moss' 445.00. I may be over analyzing this thing, but like anyone, I want to pay the least amount of money and get the best match and quality possible.

Sometimes the 2 are not compatible!

My Moss guy is back from vacation so he should be giving me the info tomorrow - but, if you wait for Moss' sale, you'll save even more than VB's sale price, from my experience.

So can you elaborate on this a bit more? I was just getting ready to put an order in to AH Spares for the chrome clamps for the exterior of the hardtop (part # XHOD 153) that clamps to the front of the windscreen. I can't find these clamps anywhere else. Are there hidden costs that I need to be aware of while dealing with AH Spares?

I've gotta get some parts that are only available through Moss UK...I'll wait until our next vacation over there & put them in my luggage..that way, I declare them but don't have to pay any tarriffs because they'll be under the amount a citizen is allowed to buy while out of the country.

I order from AH Spares and Moss UK all the time and have never had any issue with hidden costs, customs or otherwise. I got a package from each of them last week.

I intend to order red seat covers w/ white piping from AH Spares for the Whitephrog this week. Their red vinyl is a very close match to the Cherry Red original to Bugeyes vs the bright red on later Spridets and their price even with shipping is extremely competitive.

scoutll........send me the Moss parts numbers you're interested in if you're able to wait until Jan 12 to actually place the order....I'll get you a price right away but can't order at that price until the 12th.....now, I'm not saying there's gonna be a sale anytime soon, but
