buying an altenator?

gents, this is part of the continuing story of getting my engine back in the car, ive purchased a gear reduction starter and now wish to switch to an altenater, my questions are as follows, what type/make altenater and bracket is being used? is one better then another? who sells them? thanks, anthony 7777. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif

Go to the North Texas Austin Healey Club (NTAHC) website. Don Lenschow makes a bracket kit for the conversion.
 
I think you are thinking of Michael Lempert for the pumpkin conversion. I got one and really like it.

Hendrix Wire Wheel sells a kit also. I think it may be Don's since he wrote the instructions on HWW the site. I bought the basic kit and an alternator locally.

Guys, thanks very helpfull, gregw, ill probably go the route you did buying the brackets etc. and purchasing the alt. locally. those brackets arent anything special that i/we couldnt make ourselves but for the time it takes its worth just buying them. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thankyousign.gif
