Butt Ugly

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!

If it hand built, the body work looks rather nicely done aside from whether one likes the style of not.

Bob's Classics sells a lot of them. I find them fascinating because so many of them seem almost beautiful but never quite right, but, you're right Bruce the quality can actually be pretty impressive - these are not inexpensive new.

No, not cheap and probably well made but still faux with a heavy layer of bad taste.
They remind me of toupes, open shirts with gold chains, large sunglasses with rhinestones (on a man)....
Or that Middle Eastern guy that built a huge mansion with full size marble scultures of females..then painted them purple.
They have no balance of design, no focal point, just a patchwork of styling cues pulled willy nilly from other vehicles and slapped together on an available frame.

With that I agree.

+1 What fascinates me though is that the real problem is that you can't get a modern donor car to look like a 20's or 30's luxury car. The stance and the shell and the proportions won't allow it. It's kind of like trying to make a 70's bungalow look Victorian, typically all you do is make it look awkward. It also (in my mind) speaks to why cars of certain eras make good hot rods (or especially rat rods) while others just can't leading me to cringe when I see matte paint on anything built after about 1960.

"Pics speak for themselves."

Indeed they do.

Noticed the Nevada plates, maybe he won it in a poker game. Also noticed the, umm, accessory in pink; looks like that had some extensive body enhancements as well.

Maybe it's really "Pawn Stars" trying to get rid of a pig that Chumley bought......

The second 'enhanced body' is actually the seller and the car is in Las Vegas...I suspect a guy, that fit my other description, bought it for her to tool around town in.
I know that car has a 'pop up pimp' mannequin device in the trunk.
