This morning, in front of the church.

Looks like the Sheriff's deputy needs to go back to driving school:

"Cruel... but FAIR!" :smirk:

Is that a ticket on his windshield?

If you had these, you could sneak out & stick one on his rear bumper:

If they were on official business responding to a situation that required prompt action, they are allowed to park where ever they need to (as opposed to wasting time looking for a parking space on the correct side of the street). If they are visiting the local doughnut shop however...

I occasionally park like that when on very narrow streets, including in front of my house. It doesn't hurt anyone or cause problems. On a wide or major thoroughfare however it can cause issues trying to cut across lanes, so I wouldn't condone it in such places.

Around here if your car is hit by a passing car while parked facing the wrong way, you can be considered as liable for the accident because your car was illegally parked. I am sure this does not apply in the city of Philadelphia were the medians of many main boulevards are full of parked cars...

Around here people don't really care. They're too busy trying to hold their cell phone in a way that other people won't see them using it while driving.

Doesn't matter here; it's illegal, and being a sheriff's deputy makes it worse. We have a small army of "Ticket Ladies" who patrol the streets downtown, and fill up their ticket books fairly regularly. The one that wrote the deputy up came into our office later on and said she "hated to do it, but right is right...: Clearly an embarrassment for the good deputy! He'll have a lot of 'splainin' to do...

hehehe...thought I noticed the yellow ticket.

Nah, he didn't screw up - he misused his authority thinking nobody would say anything to him....good on the Meter Maid!

Maybe it was the morning of the Annual Pancake Breakfast fundraiser and the 'Officer' WAS there on official duty to control the frenzied crowd?! YEAH, THAT's the ticket!! <pun VERY intended!>

"Baad cop! No donut for YOU!" :smirk:

Those appointed to enforce the law shouldn't think they're immune to it. If it's a local ordinance and he wasn't responding to a call he knew better. OOoops.
