Bumping up to around 70degrees today

Took my mg to work today...had to go out on a 35 mile 'errand' at lunch so I put the top down and headed out on the highway. Very nice indeed. Have a new distributor and the car is running much better...starting easier, idling at 800rpm with not even a shudder (or shutter?). Hope ya'll are enjoying the weather too.

I did the same today. 15 minute ride in. Made up reasons to run around most of the morning. Getting ready for the long way home.

I'm *really* tempted to take the hardtop off my B, because the weather is so nice today. However, the fact tha my soft top is worthless, I don't have a tonneau, and I park on the street holds me back from doing so.

75 here today. Top's down. A tad bit warmer than the Polar Bear Rerun on Sunday when we left the house at 9am and 37 degrees! Going out driving tonight!

80's here again. Top's down on the MGB. Oh, and Rob... Blue tarps make good temporary wether covers! I use one all the time to keep the morning dew off the car.

eh... I'd do it, but for some reason I think someone in my area might complain and earn me a ticket.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

I'll bet that within 50-75 miles of where you live are at least 2-3 upholstory shops that'd make you a cheap tonneau cover.

hmmmmm... there is an apholstery shop relatively near that makes *cheap* tops for MGBs and sells them on eBay.... I don't think they have a pattern for tonneaus though... and I don't know how much their inexpensiveness effects their workmanship...

Look in Moss catalog for their "Cockpit Cover"...its up front in the accessories section...way less than $50 & does exactly what you want.

If you've never driven to work on wet seats... You haven't had the whole experience yet. And I can tell you live in a thickly populated area, so don't leave anything in the car that you want to keep. I say check the weather and leave the top off until the day before it's supposed to rain. In your area - usually weeks or so 'tween rains... But not this year (blame it on global warming)... But watch the weather... Get a cockpit cover, and remove that top until the real rainy/wet/cold season! Have fun!

pffft... I busted my MGB wet seat drivin' cherry LONG ago. I made the mistake of leaving the vent window open on the car during one heavy rain night. I had wet butt at work for a couple of hours. Oh yeah, the vinyl on the driver's seat is shreaded, and I have a beach towl rigged to be a seat cover. So, it was nice, cold, and *juicy* when I squished my arse into the seat. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Plus there was a whole length of time where I didn't have the roof on just right and it would drip on my right knee from the header seal. Oh yeah, and then the other time when we finally had a *real* rain the water was flying into the car from a split in the rear window seal on the hard top and pelting the back of my right ear. Let's not forget, a few weeks ago when it got down to nearly freezing here I had water spritzing me in the face from the bottom of the windows shield; it looked like it was coming up out of the top of the dash. That last one boggled my mind, because it'd never done that before and hasn't done it since even while driving in the rain we had the first couple of days this week.

Soooooooooo.... I figure I should have my Scuba Bubble by now... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

but ya know what... I still love my car! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

It is supposed to hit about 70 degrees here today too...and my seats are still in pieces on my bench in the garage. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I just got the new seat web from Moss yesterday. But the web I got only has 4 cross straps and my seat frame has 5 sets of holes...what gives here? Did Moss short me, or did someone drill an extra pair of wholes? Any pic would help if any of you folks have one, I would appreciate seing it.
