Bumpers and over riders, How do i tell if they are replacement or not

I need to either replace or re chrome my bumpers and 2 of my over riders.
i already bought 2 Moss over riders. My car was missing 2 over riders when I bought it.

I have always heard the old bumpers are better to re chrome than to buy new ones.
Is that true???????

If the bumpers are flimsy like easy to twist i your hand they probably are "replacements"

Generally you can compare the thickness of one pair to that of the other .
Thin ones will be new ones.

Additionally, new ones tend to be larger than the "old" ones. However, this may not be poured in concrete.

These have just become available on E Bay.However, I have no experience with them.

Pauls Chrome in Pa is as good as it gets. A little pricey but you get what you pay for.

On the BJ8 at least, the original over-riders tended to have a flat top while most of the newer ones are more rounded look (or so I have been told).

I purchase 2 new over riders from BCS, $80 each plus they came with the rubber. Two of my old ones were gouged so it would have been expensive to repair before re-chroming.
