A very good friend in Charlotte, NC is looking for a reliable company to straighten his original TR3A bumper and re-chrome it. He is willing to ship it off, but prefers a local company.

Advice/recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Don't know if he has a tank large enough for a bumper, but I had a large lot of small hinges, bezels, etc. done very reasonably here in Charlotte:

Thanks guys. My friend lives near Southpark Mall. We were neighbors when I lived in Charlotte. So the Indian Trail place is not far.

I appreciate the help. :yesnod:

Has anyboby used the Ebay guy that has TR3 front bumper exchange service,$300 ,but you need a good cnadidate for restoration,or an extra $100 charge. He advertises to take take of minor dings etc.,and high quality chrome.Sounded like a pretty good deal, but I havent used any local chromers lately so am not up to date on prices.
Another ebayer,I believe the gas tank guy ,makes new ones chromed for about $300 also.
Any oinions on either of these options apreciated.I have no front bumper.
Thanks
Tom

Tom, I haven't seen his work. Also, I believe someone in the UK is making TR bumpers in SS.

Frank, thanks for reply.I have seen the polished stainless on ebay also but think it looks different than chrome. The $300 exhange seemed like it might be a good deal if quality is as advertised.
Good news is there is not a lot of chrome on a tr3.Windshield parts, bumpers, gas cap, new handles and hinges and Im done.
I have used Independence plating in Patterson NJ before, but it's been awhile.
I see your not to far from me,Who does your chrome?
If I dont find a decent front bumper for exchange 100 core charge+300 may be my best deal.
Thanks Again
Tom

The "eBay gas tank" guy is close to me in San Diego. ( JORGECERVERA218@LIVE.COM)
He does a lot of Jaguar chrome stuff. I've seen his bumpers. They look fantastic but I wouldn't know how to tell good from mediocre. I've purchased TR3A fuel tanks from him and I can say that the quality on them is superb!

Frank, yes one of his steel tanks is also on my list. Not sure about his new remanufactured bumpers vs. the rechromed original exchange, although new is cheaper, since I dont have a core.
Thanks
Tom
